A Review on Start-Up Phase Optimization of Kitchen Waste Anaerobic Digestion
نویسندگان
چکیده
Kitchen waste has been confirmed as an appropriate substrate for anaerobic digestion, although means of alleviating the difficulties and time-consuming nature start-up phase need to be further explored. Based on mechanism we discuss factors influencing kitchen waste. By controlling temperature, pH, organic loading rate, inoculation ratio other parameters, high activity methane-producing archaea bacteria can intensified, thereby increasing biogas yield. Furthermore, introduce methods pretreatment, operating condition optimization conductive material addition. Finally, put forward future perspectives research gaps related accelerating bioreactors utilized biodegradation.

Waste Management by Anaerobic Digestion of Kitchen Waste- A Review
Kitchen waste (food waste) collected from hostels and canteen has high calorific and rich nutritive value to microbes due to which efficiency of methane production can be enhanced. Biogas (Green energy) as an energy source is cost effective and generates a high-quality renewable fuel. Biogas contains around 55-65% of methane, 3040% of carbon dioxide. Methane has a calorific value of 10 kWh/Nm 3...

Kitchen (food waste) was collected from hostels of Cancer Hospital & Research Institute (CHRI), Gwalior’s Mess as feedstock for bio-reactor which works as anaerobic digester system to produce biogas energy. Production of biogas ,used as energy source, will be more cost effective, eco-friendly, cut down on landfill waste, generate a high-quality renewable fuel, and reduce CH4 and CO2 emissions, ...
متن کاملEffect of pre-aeration and inoculum on the start-up of batch thermophilic anaerobic digestion of municipal solid waste.
In this study, a short pre-aeration step was investigated as pre-treatment for thermophilic anaerobic digestion of the organic fraction of municipal solid waste (OFMSW). It was found that pre-aeration of 48 h generated enough biological heat to increase the temperature of bulk OFMSW to 60 degrees C. This was sufficient self-heating of the bulk OFMSW for the start-up of thermophilic anaerobic di...
متن کاملAnaerobic Digestion of Vegetable Waste
Fruit and vegetable wastes are produced in large quantities in Iran, and constitute a source of nuisance in municipal landfills. The objective of this study was to optimize the applications of anaerobic digestion for the treatment of municipal organic wastes. We studied the effect of organic loading rates on anaerobic digestion of vegetable wastes. The complete-mix, pilot-scale digester with wo...
